The 夏天的链接 Program provides academic 和 enrichment opportunities to economically disadvantaged students to eliminate the summer achievement gap.
夏天的链接 supports students in their current school settings by solidifying the learning from the previous year 和 preparing students for the upcoming one.
In order to accomplish this, students take academic classes in the morning to strengthen their reading 和 math skills. 在下午, students engage in interdisciplinary activities (arts, 领导, 体育运动, 和 outdoor education) to develop a strong sense for who they are 和 how they want to contribute to the world around them. The program also includes a community gathering each morning 和 advisory program to cultivate bonds within the cohort 和 help students develop as leaders.
夏天的链接 is open to students entering 6th 和 8th grades in the 2023-24 school year. 夏天的链接 supports students during the summer from 6th-9th grades, so students who join us in Summer 2023 will return for additional summers before transitioning to high school.

夏天的链接 is open to current 5th-7th graders who will enter 6th-8th grade in the 2023-24 school year. The program is designed for students who have demonstrated economic 和 academic needs; the program is for students who are at or slightly below grade level in math 和/or reading 和 come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We are looking for students who are motivated to grow 和 see summer enrichment as an opportunity to develop, both inside 和 outside the classroom.
夏天的链接 is free. There are no costs associated with the program.
是的. We will pick students up from a few designated bus stops on the Eastside in the morning 和 drop them off at those same stops in the afternoon. The bus will pick students up at the designated locations between 7:15-8:00am 和 will drop off at the same locations between 3:45-4:30pm. Breakfast, lunch, 和 snacks are included.
